For instance, United States government has over time been found to focus on ethics within the various speeches produced (Croix, 2004). This ensures that speech focuses on aspects which affect individuals and attempts to offer suitable solutions to them for the purpose of promoting peaceful living among individuals. However, Athenian government has not been able to effectively put ethics in to practice especially in cases whereby speeches are provided. This is properly put to light by the way Athens treated Socrates who appeared to hold varying views from theirs. Although Athens and United States governments have been found to hold democracy aspects, it is apparent that the United States government emphasizes on ethics more within the various offered speeches than Athens government. United States word choosing is usually based on ethical standards to ensure that intended purposed are effectively attained. However, Athens government has been found to focus more on intended purposes than ethics standards (Croix, 2004). It is therefore apparent that speech ethics, audience attention attainment, public speaking, communication skills, words choosing and giving speeches within United States government was ethically done whereas Athens did not effectively focus on ethics.
